Happy Birthday Antonia
Today, I should like to present to you my friend Antonia, Antonia the "Lady"
of animals. Antonia the Andaluz with an enormous heart for the poor animals
in distress in our small town, Almuñecar. Always ready to help me and to
support me.
Antonia was born in Jaen, in deepest Andalucia, where the olives are
growing... she lived there until her marriage to Angel.
At that time Andalucia was a very poor province and with no work, its people
immigrating. Antonia and Angel left for Switzerland to Zurich. After
working there for 33 years, they returned to their native Andalucia, living
a well merited retirement... but then they met Julie and their lives
changed.

Antonia, along with Angel and for the last 4 years, picked up, cared for
and loved a great number of animals who are now in your homes.
After Rocky, Bamse, the sweet Linda, El Cid and his brother Odeon, Assi, the
adorable Couscous, sweet Elvira, Leo, the enchantress Pepa, the famous El
Greco, Bolero, my little Bolero, the beautiful Fresa and her sister Anna
adopted in Germany, Silla, Niky that both of us picked up one evening
running on the road in a panic, the miniature Pitufa adopted in the north of Sweden, she was always looking for a ray of
sunshine, Mika , injured and adopted by Irma, then the last to leave,
Trufa, Bali and Orco....I have seen Antonia furtively repressing tears at
the airport in Málaga, when we accompanied our dear babies...
It is also Tuna, Valentin and Ulysse in which she inculcated this sweetness
for which only she has the secret...
My old Paulette, 11 years old and my old cat Ralf 8 years old are boarding
with her.
Antonia and Angel lavish love and attention on "Olive", our sponsor dog and
thanks to them she is progressing daily...
The last ones to leave will be little Gina, adopted and the dis-adopted for
health reasons and "Bonito" a miniature Ratonero Andalouz, found this summer
at the parking of a supermarket in Almuñecar and adopted in Sweden...
And the, Antonia and Angel will take a rest. I am in despair for the
animals, for us, for me.... and I would like a few words for them in English
from you which Angel, their son, will translate, accompanied by the photo of
your dog which she loved and pampered.
Merci, we owe her that much.
Julie
