Today, I want to talk to you about a refuge, located in the mountains near Granada , in a place call "Canales", mid-way on the road that leads to the Winter Sport center, y Granada, "Prado de Llanos", in Sierra Nevada, and which needs your help.... "El Refugio de Sierra Nevada".
Anita, a French lady, living in Granada for the last 25 years and her husband Paco, opened this refuge to take in the abandoned dogs and there are lots of them in that region too....

Normally, Winter is extremely hard in that area , at an altitude of 1.200 meters, where the day temperature exedes -15 degrees Celsius, but this year a lot worse with much more snow and much, much colder.
As with all the "foreign" Protection Societies, she doesn't receive any subsidies from anybody and, at this moment, has 65 abandoned dogs in her care.
We have to buy beds as right now the animals are sleeping in cardboard boxes, without any kind of heating facilities. Also, blankets are needed desperately.

Please, we all need to help Anita and her dogs.......

Thanks to your generosity, now many of them are sleeping in plastic beds filled with wood shavings, well insulated from the cold. The end of Winter will be a lot milder for them.
The first day, surprised, they didn't understand....but now they don't want to leave their dry and cosy beds....
Thank you for your help, your understanding. Thank you for your love for all our little abandoned ones.
