I
Dom
Saturday afternoon, I
went to the Surgery in Torre del Mar to pick up Quijote,
my Galgo who had been there for a week. I found Quijote
extremely cheerful, a lot better in every way, out of
danger thanks to the very good care he had been given by
Pedro and Maria, the two Vets in that Clinic. He had
been suffering from severe undernourishment, dehydrated,
and a very severe pneumonia which was discovered by an
XRay of the lungs.
He is here, with us,
at La Higuera, daily care, a lot of warmth, very short
walks in the sun because he needs a lot of rest, good
food (he eats twice a day) and I add a lot of love.
So, these are the
latest news of Quijote, the Galgo saved from the Pound
in Granada, thanks to David, Sylvia and all the children
in the music class of a school in Murcia
They broke their
piggy bank open to pay the € 40 to get Quijote out of
there, allowing him to live and not to be killed last
Monday, as were more than 8 other dogs.

My beautiful little Galgo with the
lovely eyes…..saved from the "Granada Refuge"…..(I have
already told you about this famous " Animal Protection
Society" which, every Tuesday morning, sacrifices, as do
many Municipal Establishments in Spain, all of the dogs
picked up in various villages and towns as they don't
have any Centers for the animals)
So, he arrived at La Higuera this Sunday afternoon, in a
very bad state; he was saved by Sylvia and David…..
Please look, the photos speak for themselves.
On Monday morning he will be taken to a Vet…….
He has just accepted a little bit of food….just a
bit…..this morning he will come to walk with me in the
mountains that the Galgos love so much!
David is Professor of Music near Jaen; his students have
decided to open a piggy bank with the aim of saving dogs
from death…So far, 5 dogs have been saved thanks to
those children.
In the near future, I shall present this Music Class to
you, these children who don't hesitate to donate a bit
of their money in order to give these dogs the
opportunity to find love in a new family.
